As one of the few Hatha and Sivananda Yoga teachers in Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), I strive to inspire continuous self-improvement, personal empowerment and mindfulness through the practice of Yoga.
This ancient science of life is not only a part of my Indian roots, but has been an indispensable influence on my well-being since childhood. Certified from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram in India, I believe that continued lifelong learning is a fundamental attribute of being a yogi. And because an authentic yogic life is so much more than the practice of physical postures, I regularly travel to ashrams and retreats to restore, relearn and advance in my abilities.
I have been fortunate enough to live and teach in several countries around the world including Indonesia, Thailand, the Maldives, India, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. As a result, worldliness, cultural awareness and an appreciation of diversity is reflected in my own yogic lifestyle and my methods of interaction with my students.
My approach to teaching revolves around each individual student’s spiritual energy, latent potential and higher power. During every class, I naturally incorporate classical yogic disciplines, Vedic scriptures and Sanskrit mantras into the yogic experience. Furthermore, I consistently focus on simplifying asana sequences and pranayama breathing techniques into their essential elements.
In addition to my role as a teacher, I am also the founder, creator and author of Body Mind Light and a Brand Ambassador for yoga clothing lines.
I am based in Milton Ontario and currently offer one-on-one lessons and corporate classes throughout the GTA, including Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, West Toronto and Milton itself. All my classes follow the Sivananda style, with modified flows for seniors, mothers-to-be and special needs.
I feel incredibly blessed to be sharing these gifts of authentic Hatha Yoga with the world and I look forward to enjoying them with you.
